Marshall County Schools hosted its first-ever student Engineering Expo at John Marshall High School Wednesday evening.

This inaugural event featured Project Lead the Way and Engineering students from Moundsville Middle School, Sherrard Middle School, Cameron High School and John Marshall High School giving hands-on demonstrations during this one-of-a-kind expo.

Attendees at the event got to see examples of Automation and Robotics, Flight and Space and Energy/Environment. In addition, students gave information about Design and Modeling, Medical Detectives, Computer Sciences, Biomedical and Engineering.

The expo ended with students presenting their Project Lead the Way (PTLW) Engineering Design & Development (EDD) capstone projects to a community panel consisting of industry professionals. EDD is an engineering research course in which students work in teams to design and develop an original solution to a valid open-ended technical problem by applying the engineering design process.
