CHS CTE Students Create Mastectomy Pillows Cancer Patients

Holly Pettit’s Applied Design and Fashion students recently donated mastectomy pillows to the WVU Medicine Cancer Center at Wheeling Hospital.

The class at Cameron High School came up with the idea for Breast Cancer Awareness Month to help bring attention to the fight against breast cancer, and to honor a fellow classmate’s mother, who recently battled breast cancer. They created the pillows from scratch, using the techniques and styles they learned in class. WVU Medicine-Wheeling Hospital officials and staff of the Schiffler Cancer Center were on site to accept the donation.
