Students fill out a voter registration card.

To coincide with September’s National Voter Registration Month, Cameron High School held a voter registration presentation and drive, hosted by WV Secretary of State Kris Warner on Thursday morning.

Following the presentation, the WV Secretary of State’s Office and the Marshall County Clerk’s Office worked together to register eligible students to vote.

The Cameron Dragons senior class now has the opportunity to earn the Jennings Randolph Award, named in honor of Jennings Randolph, by reaching an 85–100% registration rate.

According to the Secretary of State’s website, Randolph is the father of the 26th Amendment and the late U.S. Senator from Harrison County, WV. Senator Randolph epitomizes what it means to never give up. He introduced a bill eleven times to lower the required age to register to vote from 21 to 18.
